 At this home a fire started in a lower floor home salon. A candle may have been the culprit. Even though the fire was in the lower level the entire house had to cleaned of smoke damage.  Smoke had permeated the carpet from the basement, where the fire started up to the first floor. This is the stairwell that leads up to the first floor. After SERVPRO of Norridge/Harwood heights  cleaned up and a fresh coat paint instead of carpet the home owner decided that  hardwood floor would add a cleaner look and be easier to keep clean. 

  Its not always easy to picture the end results when your home looks like a disaster area immediately after suffering the devastating effects of a home fire.
